Eminescu Place - During the interwar period here it was build the Royal Cultural Foundation Building, today known as Mihai Eminescu Central University Library which hosts more than 3 millions books, some of them extremely rare.

The Palace of Culture - The present edifice was built between 1906 and 1925 by Romanian architect Berindei, partly on top of the foundations of the former palace, dated to the time of Prince Alexandru Moruzi (1806-1812), rebuilt by Prince Mihail Sturza (1841-1843) and finally demolished in 1904.. The Palace hosts today "Moldova" National Museum Complex which includes four museums: Moldavia's History Museum, the Ethnographic Museum of Moldavia, the Art Museum and "Stefan Procopiu" Science and Technique Museum.
